It's party time on Pokémon GO! Like every year, the franchise anniversary is celebrated with lots of in-game bonuses. Armored Mewtwo is making a comeback, some Pokémon are wearing party hats and much more.

Pokemon GO: Pokémon Day 2020 is live with Armored Mewtwo and Clone Pokémon!

Every year on February 27th, the Pokémon franchise celebrates its anniversary. It was in 1996 that the first games were released! And like every year since its launch, Pokémon GO is celebrating this anniversary with style. This famous #PokemonDay is the perfect time to take advantage of many bonuses on the mobile game.

Dates of the event

You'll be able to take advantage of various Pokémon Day bonuses from Tuesday, February 25, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. to Monday, March 2, at 1:00 p.m. PST (GMT −8)

In the 2-star Raids only on Sunday 1st March from 2pm to 5pm.

Armored Mewtwo

To celebrate the release of the movie: Pokémon: Mewtwo Strikes Back—Evolution (on Netlfix), the legendary Pokémon returns to Pokémon GO with his Armor. You'll be able to fight him in the 5 Star Raids.

Clone Pokémon

Similarly, to celebrate the release of the 22nd movie on Netflix, Pokémon Clones are making their debut on Pokémon GO. The visuals aren't available yet, but no doubt, just like in the movie, they'll be in different colors (with stripes for example).
