Final Fantasy VII Remake will be released on April 10 for PS4, but is already in the hands of many players thanks to the rather uncharacteristic situation surrounding its release and the coronavirus outbreak.
For those who have not necessarily learned about Final Fantasy VII Remake, remember that this is only the Midgar arc of the game — enriched and enhanced for a greater scope.
Players shouldn't expect to visit Kalm or the Chocobo Ranch this time out — these will surely be locations in Episode 2 when that drops, and which is already in development at Square Enix. So, the question remains — how long is the game?
Number of Chapters / Hours Needed
These figures are based on our initial playthrough when reviewing the game.
- Finish the game: around 35h
- Complete the game 100%: More than 60 hours
- Number of chapters: 18
We will come back to this in a dedicated article, but completing the game 100% can only be achieved by finishing the game a second time with the higher difficulty mode — which gives you new rewards to boot.
This mode adds new attacks to the bosses' repertoires, and generally offers a rather neat challenge for those who want to experience a more intense form of the game's combat system.
All in all, you should be prepared for a good stint playing FFVII Remake. Some will complete it in the first weekend of release (especially given the Easter holiday), but in the end you should play at your own pace, and enjoy all Midgar has to offer.
Feel free to let us know below how long it takes you to complete the game!
