Final Fantasy 7 Remake: Date mechanics & romance event

Here's all you need to know about influencing the outcome of the date in Chapter 14 of Final Fantasy 7 Remake.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake: Date mechanics & romance event

In the original game, it was possible to go out on a date with Aerith, Tifa, Yuffie or Barret during the party's second visit to the Gold Saucer.

In Final Fantasy VII Remake, the mechanics are the same — certain choices you make, usually in dialogue, invisibly affect the outcome. This means that if you're angling for a specific character, you'll need to be on the lookout.

Here's what you need to know about the choices that should influence the outcome in your favour.

Chapter 14: Date Event

Tifa

Always answer in favor of Tifa in all dialogue choices in which she asks a question, be as positive as possible, and make sure you talk to her first when you land in the Sewers in Chapter 10.

Specifics

— In Chapter 2, answer "I'm good" then "Don't be stupid" when Aerith offers you a flower.

— In Chapter 3, select any option during the "Alone At Last" Discovery.

— Also in Chapter 3, ask for "something hard" when Tifa offers you a drink.

— When you talk to Chocobo Sam in Chapter 9, reply "She's in great shape."

— When commenting on Aerith's outfit in Chapter 9, reply "It matter what I think?"

— When you land in the Sewer in Chapter 10, talk to Tifa first.

Aerith

Follow the same strategy as with Tifa, answering favourably for Aerith. Also make sure to talk to her first when you land in the Sewers in Chapter 10.

Specifics

— When Aerith offers you a flower in Chapter 2, reply "How much?"

— When Tifa offers you a drink in Chapter 3, reply "Not in the mood."

— In Chapter 9, when talking to the Hotel Man reply "...No thanks."

— When commenting on Aerith's outfit in Chapter 9, reply "It's Alright."

— Talk to Aerith first upon landing in the Sewer in Chapter 10.

Barret

To see a scene with Barret, the idea is to not favour either of the ladies. This means you'll have to be a bit of a jerk to them...

Specifics

— In Chapter 2, reply "I'm good" then "Don't be stupid" when Aerith offers you a flower.

— Say you're "Not in the mood" when Tifa offers you a drink in Chapter 3.

— When commenting on Aerith's outfit in Chapter 9, reply "It matter what I think?"

Although not an exact science, these choices should influence who you meet in a night-time tryst in Aerith's garden in Chapter 14.
