From runes to items, gameplay tips amd more, we've put together a guide to help you master playing Sivir in the botlane in League of Legends.
Be mindful that there are several ways to build and play a champion, and you'll need to be adaptable as the game and the enemy team progress.
That said, this guide is a good starting point to helping you get to grips with the champion and making an impact in your games.
Runes
Core Items
Build
Duskblade of Draktharr means you'll deal a lot of bonus damage, and the invisibility passive could be the difference between another takedown or escaping a fight.
Manamune will help Sivir counter mana drain, especially when it becomes Muramana.
Other good items include Serylda's Grudge, Infinity Edge, and Essence Reaver.
Starting Item & Boots
Skill Order
While your choices may differ according to how the game progresses, the typical Sivir skill priority is:
R > Q > W > E
Summoner Spells
These are the summoner spells most typically taken by Sivir in this role. Naturally, this may change depending on match-ups.
Gameplay
Sivir has exceptional waveclear and push potential, and can dominate the botlane if played well enough. However, she lacks mobility, and is easy to gank. Play safely in the early game, and if you can pair up with a tank support like Alistar, Leona, or Braum.
- Level 1 - Take Q - Boomerang Blade, for quicker farming.
- Level 2 - Take E - Spell Shield, for the sustain in lane and protection against early ganks.
- First Back - Work towards Manamune, as you'll need extra mana to spam your abilities later.
Tips & Tricks
- When Spell Shield absorbs an ability, it grants you mana. If you're lacking, don't hesitate to use it.
- Spell Shield instantly removes the effects of traps like those laid by Caitlyn and Nidalee.
- Ricochet can inflict crits on the rebound.
- Don't hesitate to use your ultimate when an enemy jungler ganks.
- Richochet acts as an auto-attack reset.
- Push your lane hard from the start, so your minions die under the turret - this denies farm to your opponent.
- Don't keep Spell Shield back for a perfect time - use it the first time an enemy tried to engage.
- Boomerang Blade can be used to see if an enemy is hiding in a bush. Listen for the audio cue.
- Remember that Boomerang Blade's damage is reduced for enemies hit after the first. Try to hit enemy champions directly.
- Spell Shield can't block spells already active on you. This includes damage-over-time effects such as Twitch's poison.
