Disney Dreamlight Valley is finally released this Tuesday, September 6, 2022 in Early Access on all platforms. The opportunity for you to discover this magical world and restore it by finding lost Disney and Pixar characters. All means are good: whether it's exploring the open world by unlocking the passages of nocturnal thorns thanks to the Dreamlight, or going through the castle and its magic paintings. Today we are going to focus on Scrooge.
Scrooge Overview
Balthazar Picsou is a famous Disney studio character created in 1947 by Carl Barksn. He is Donald's uncle and is known to be the richest duck in Donaldville. His name in French is also a portmanteau word composed of "pique" and "sous" because he loves money and wealth. In the game, he is the owner of the furniture and clothing store in town.
Unlock Scrooge, his house and his rewards by friendship level
Scrooge is automatically unlocked when you start the game, but you will first have to advance the story quest with Merlin before going to talk to him. Once the Royal Tools are found, you will see Scrooge in front of a ruined building and he will ask for your help to renovate it.

Scrooge doesn't really have a home: he lives directly in his furniture and clothing store on the Esplanade. You can of course change the store location if you wish.
Below are the rewards Scrooge gives you at each friendship level. Level 10 is the maximum you can reach. Then, it will no longer be useless to make him gain experience, but it will always be more advantageous to take him to accompany you on an excursion since his bonuses will be higher.
As for Scrooge's favorite gifts , know that he really appreciates Gems: make sure that this object is one of his 3 daily favorite gifts, but in general, he comes back often.
Like any other character in the game, Scrooge will therefore offer you to follow Story and friendship quests to improve his level and advance the scenario.

Story Quest 1
In order to renovate his store, Scrooge will need money. To do this, he will first ask you to renovate Goofy's stand in the Tranquil Prairie. Interact with the orange triangular panel to open the stand.

Now that the store is renovated, Scrooge will want you to promote it to attract even more people. For example, you will have to wear an outfit (store t-shirt) and talk to locals to get them to come. Repairing Scrooge's Shop will cost you 1000 Coins. He will then ask you to help him open the shop by giving him 12 softwood and building signs to place around the shop to attract people.

This mission will explain to you quietly how to arrange your island. Then Picsou will offer you to invest in your house. Go to your elevator and pay the 1000 coins needed for the expansion. You will also have to sell 7 gems at Goofy's stand to make some money.

Story Quest 2
This quest will be offered several times to develop the different biomes : Quiet Meadow, Enchanted Beach, Forest of Courage, Bayou of Confidence, etc.
Simply place 10 pieces of furniture in the biome using your menu (inventory then "furniture"). You can zoom out as much as possible to make it easier, take furniture from the Esplanade and transfer it to the Meadow if you don't feel like buying more or crafting it.
Safe: The Forgotten Combination

Scrooge has lost the combination to his safe . To find it, you will have to perform three specific steps:
- Go see Goofy to ask him his birthday: May 25
- Go to Merlin's house (Prairie Tranquille, the kind of astronomy tower) and count how many telescopes there are in his room: 1 only,

Count the number of ponds in Tranquil Prairie: 3.
You must move to the locations listed below for the quest to work. Then go back to Scrooge and he will figure out the combination of his chest on his own thanks to your clues: 25 - 3 - 1.

Go talk to Ursula to make a deal with her. Then listen to Scrooge and the witch talk together.
The treasure hunt
Friendship Quest 6 - Level 8
Examine the coin Scrooge just gave you (in your inventory). You will then see three pieces of images indicating places in Dreamlight Valley: your objective will be to go there to collect pieces of the treasure map:
- The first image is a statue in the water at Bayou de la Confiance ,
- The second image is the library in Merlin's house (Prairie Tranquille),

The third image is the Enchanted Beach (right path to the Pillar).
As you go to these locations, grab your shovel and look for the glowing holes in the ground to dig up the map pieces. Then give the card to Scrooge so that he gathers it.
The treasure hunt part 2
Friendship Quest 7 - Level 10
You must unlock all biomes in the Valley to access this quest. Give the treasure map to Merlin to examine. It will then turn into a souvenir showing you the exact position of the 2 key pieces and the treasure chest. Before you go looking for them, you will need to talk to Scrooge about the "Glasses of Darkness" and then put them on you via your wardrobe.
- The first piece of key is at Bayou de la Confiance (red cross next to the pillar),
- The second piece of key is in the Forest of Courage (red cross to the left of the pillar),
- The chest is in the Frozen Heights (top right of the pillar).
Now, make 2 gold bars using your gold nuggets (minerals from the Sunny Plateau or from the Frozen Heights) then repair the treasure key via your workbench. Give it all to Scrooge to receive your ultimate gift (a safe) and 2000 coins.
