As we recently learned, the ULTRA BONUS from Pokémon GO will allow us to capture the very first Gen 5 Pokémon in September. If Klink, Patrat and Lillipup will soon be in the game, no doubt their friends will join them.
The fifth generation is the one with the most Pokémon to date, with 156 new creatures.
Gen 5 starters
Will there be any evolution to prepare?
Unfortunately (or fortunately), there are NO Pokémon of the older generations that can evolve into Gen 5. The 156 new Pokémon will therefore only be available in the wild, in Raids, in Eggs, via special tasks or via exchange.
However, don't forget that a new object will be available for the Gen 5: the Unova Stone. This will probably allow some Gen 5 Pokémon to evolve in addition to candy.
Pokémon that could use a Unova Stone
- Minccino into Cinccino
- Eelektrik into Eelektross
- Munna into Musharna
- Cottonee into Whimsicott (maybe a Sun Stone?)
- Petilil into Lilligant
- Lampent into Chandelure
Legendaries
As for the Mythical Pokémon, they will probably be available via special tasks or in Raids:
- Victini
- Keldeo
- Meloetta
- Genesect
Regional Pokémon theories
Each generation of Pokémon on Pokémon GO has its Regionals. As a reminder, Regional Pokémon are Pokémon that are only available in certain regions of the world. For example, Mr. Mime is dedicated to Europe. Don't worry, Niantic regularly offers events to capture these famous regionals.
With regard to Gen 5, here are some assumptions:
- Pansage, Pansear and Panpour will probably be distributed in the 3 vertical slices of the planisphere. But it means it will be the first time a regional Pokémon can evolve.
- The Throh and Sawk duo: East and West
- Basculin and Mamanbo: south and north
- Maractus: in the cities around the deserts
- Sigilyph: for this one, we think it will be like Spiritomb, a reward for special Halloween quests
- Tirtouga and Archen: in the islands
- Emolga: England or Canada
- Bouffalant; probably exclusive in the USA
Welcome to Seasons with Deerling
It is very likely that Gen 5 will bring a new feature to the game: the importance of seasons to capture different forms of Pokémon.
If you have any other hypotheses about the Gen 5 Pokémon, feel free to tell us in the comments!
