You are probably familiar with the Shift code system that has existed in Borderlands for a long time and allows you to enter reward codes. Gearbox Software, or other studio partners, have always given shift codes for their games. This unlocks in-game skins or gold keys (to open the gold chest with its rare loots). For Borderlands 3 which arrives at the beginning of the school year (September 13th as a reminder), the publisher has decided to go further and has set up a reward system with VIP points.
Vault Insider Program
It's just a program that thanks the community by providing content in Borderlands games. For this, nothing could be easier. Go to this address: https://borderlands.com/en-US/vip/. Log in with your Shift account (or Steam if the two have been linked for a long time). If you do not have an account, you must create one. Then link your Shift account to your Borderlands game account (Steam, Xbox or PSN), if you haven't already done so.
Earn points
You will then be able to access the VIP tab at the top of the page. Follow the instructions to earn as many VIP points as possible. For example, you can:
- Link your Shift account to your social networks and/or game accounts
- Complete your profile
- Watch videos, answer surveys or read articles

Rewards
You can now use your 'hard-earned' points to collect rewards. The latter can be linked to all Borderlands content (except the game Tales from the Borderlands). There are character skins, gold keys, wallpapers and even unique weapons. We let you explore the site, it's well done.
We still recommend that you collect as many VIP points as possible and wait before using them. The goal will be to retrieve as much content as possible that you are interested in on Borderlands 3. For example, we will collect everything about Zane, before the game is released, in order to have style when playing it. It's still essential, isn't it?
A legendary weapon
Collectors and all other players who don't want to miss anything about the game, you can get a legendary Maliwan weapon in Borderlands 3 with this reward system.
To do this, as shown on the screenshot and site, you must have collected 8 weapons from the VIP Shift reward system. So, either you buy weapons for Borderlands games with your VIP points, or you turn the wheel of the "sprayer" to win a weapon (which will be counted towards the 8 weapons level). The wheel can be turned once. There are three wheels, one for season 1, one for season 2 and one for season 3. You can therefore advance your collection by at least 3 weapons. You can combine both techniques, i.e. buy weapons with points and spin the wheel. This way, you are sure to unlock the legendary weapon for the release of Borderlands 3.
