Chiral crystals are one of Death Stranding's essential resources. You will find them all over the ground during your trip to the West and there is no limit to the stock you can carry. This material doesn't need to be recycled if you want to use it to create or improve structures.
How to get chiral crystals
The formation of a chiral crystal is quite simple to observe, since each eliminated BTs failed will leave some on the ground. So, if your goal is to farm chiral crystals, you'll have to go to stranded territory and eliminate a good bunch of them, but there's another solution, riskier, to collect a lot of them. Follow these few steps:
- Be sure to leave without any cargo, except for hematic grenades, a few blood bags and a firearm attached to the tool rack. A speed exoskeleton can also help.
- Head directly into a rainfall and let yourself be caught by the BTs. This will trigger one of the monsters that Higgs likes to unleash on you from time to time.
- Eliminate the beast: throw every hematic ammunition you have at it. Beached things are relatively easy to defeat, don't be scared by their imposing size and stay on the emerged buildings. In addition, the people you are reconnected with will give you a hand by throwing objects.
- As it decomposes, the beast will leave a huge formation of chiral crystals that will need to be harvested. You can also leave them there for other Porters to take them in multiplayer.
Last but not least: the facility in which you recycle your chiral crystals (like any other material) will be the only one in which they will be available, knowing that each outpost has a storage limit that evolves with the ranks of those in charge.
