Hearthstone Descent of Dragons Deck Guide: OTK Shirvallah Paladin

Popular since the Rastakhan Games, the Paladin Shirvallah is still in the spotlight with the Descent of Dragons. The Highlander version is also playable, using the advantages of the Highlander version to play Zephrys the Great and Sir Finley of the Sands, but also all the Dragon gear!

Hearthstone Descent of Dragons Deck Guide: OTK Shirvallah Paladin

Archetype played a lot for several months now, and this thanks to the Rastakhan Games, the Paladin OTK Shirvallah is still a sure value of the meta. Despite the fact that he didn't need to add much in his line-up with the Descent of Dragons, he remains one of the most powerful decks on Hearthstone at the moment, allowing him to effectively face the dominant deck of this early meta: Shaman Galakrond. Here are the codes, lists and new cards required to play the deck in the two most popular versions.

Descent of Dragons pre-nerfs

Very strong against Shaman Galakrond, the Paladin Shirvallah remains one of the dominant decks of the new Descent of Dragons meta. However, nerves are coming soon, and while they should attack mainly the Shaman, we still do not know what the reaction of the meta in general will be.

Paladin OTK Shirvallah (Non Highlander) - Jarla

New cards: Sathrovarr

A single word: hold on... If you had played Rastakhan's version, you should not be disoriented. Otherwise, the principle is quite simple: reduce Shirvallah's mana cost by casting spells during the game, manage the opponent's aggression, and put the opponent at 25 HP. Once Shirvallah is on the board and the deck empty, send her back to the deck with the Baleful Banker and cast Holy Wrath at the opponent to inflict 25 damages.

The arrival of the Descent of Dragons left the deck of marble, although a card has appeared: Sathrovarr, which allows you to add an additional copy of Shirvallah on the field, your hand and your deck, offering you more value, survivability, and the opportunity to cast your Holy Wrath at 25 !

Compared to Jarla's version, Viper preferred to remove the Subdue, in order to replace it with a second Hammer of Wrath.

Highlander Version

The Highlander version is a little less stable but allows unrestricted access to Zephrys the Great (which is not the case with the above version), but also to Sir Finley who can give a new heroic power that is much more useful than the useless 1/1 tokens most of the time. However, there is only one Holy Wrath, which requires you to attack the opponent a little more to keep him at 25 HP or less throughout the game. However, you can count on the addition of the Descent of Dragons cards which adds a lot of strength to the deck with the addition of many dragons that can be reduced in cost thanks to Frizz Kindleroost!

Galakrond Shaman nerfed a few days after the release of the new expansion

Just a few days after the release of Descent of Dragons, the Hearthstone development team announced that it would implement a few tweaks that are notably going to impact the Shaman class.
