Capcom decided to remain silent several years after the announcement of a remake of Resident Evil 2, but everything has accelerated since the first official trailer. Using a brand new engine, the RE Engine, radically changing the character design and atmosphere of its tracks, the Japanese studio has won the hearts of the press and fans. Just one year after the release of the episode featuring Leon and Claire, the announcement of the redesign of the much-loved 3rd episode was not really a surprise.
Although the announcement of the Japanese and American collector's versions was made very quickly, the Europeans were once again waiting for pre-orders. It's now done, the collector's edition of Resident Evil 3 Remake has just been made official, but offers a little less surprises than its predecessor:
- A collector's box similar to the one in 2 with a more brownish color...
- A Jill Valentine statuette, similar to that of Leon Scott Kennedy.
- 2 CDs featuring titles from the game's soundtrack
- A poster illustrating the map of Raccoon City (handy to escape from the Nemesis)
- An artbook
- The game in lenticular edition
If the price is unknown for the moment, the various usual dealers should not be long in unveiling this last mystery. No small bonus in sight, as we could have had with the keys to the police station.
As a reminder, at some stores, the pre-order of any edition will give access to Jill's classic outfit and Carlos' haircut from the 1999 version.
This version will be available on the same date as the others on April 3, 2020, but only on PS4 and Xbox One. PC gamers will not be entitled to it for the moment.
