Good news! CD Projekt has confirmed that if you buy Cyberpunk 2077 on Xbox One, the Xbox Series X version will be given to you at no extra cost. This option, just announced for the next generation of Xbox consoles, allows you to enjoy a smooth generation transition with a single copy for all media.
Publishers are not required to make this transfer, but CDPR will use this system so as not to prejudice One or One X gamers who wish to switch to the next generation of machines while keeping their game. Hopefully, many studios will follow the same path, to avoid hurting players who will be betting on cross-gen titles in the coming months.
