While Half-Life: Alyx is eagerly awaited for March 23, 2020 on Valve Index, Oculus Rift, HTC Vive and WMR, Robin Walker, Australian game designer at Valve, in an interview with Game Informer, released some interesting information about the development of more Half-Life games as a continuation of Alyx, including a possible Half-Life 3.
Knowing that Valve is particularly reluctant to communicate about Half-Life 3, Walker's statement is likely to raise all hopes, especially since he also put forward this idea, without however expressly mentioning Half-Life 3, to IGN along with Chris Remo, another developer at Valve.
Walker also adds that Half-Life: Alyx, although being a prequel, will be fully integrated into the series and will take it forward (towards Half-Life 3 ?). He also reminds that remembering the events of episode 2 before starting Half-Life: Alyx is advisable.
Half-Life 3 is still unconfirmed, but we never seem to have been so close to it. The team behind Half-Life: Alyx really wants it and hopes not to have to wait more than 10 years again to see a title reborn in the series.
