Social networks play a crucial role in the current crisis in esports, and in particular in Overwatch. The Overwatch League was very strongly impacted, and was forced to cancel all the homestands that had been organized all around the globe.
To allow the competition to continue, the solution was to ensure that all the matches were played online. Matches are scheduled every week so that the geographically closest teams play as much as possible against each other, as long as this is possible.
The North Atlantic Division team, London Spitfire, was based in North America but decided to relocate to Seoul on March 25 to protect its players from the pandemic. With a roster composed exclusively of Korean players, this choice is nothing but logical.
To respect the necessary precautionary rules and to ensure the health and safety of its players, London Spitfire has announced that it doesn't expect to play any games in the Overwatch League before the beginning of May.
