Overwatch 2020 Anniversary patch notes would have been accidentally posted by Josh Nash (Community Manager) on the official Blizzard forum before being immediately deleted. A user still had time to take a screenshot to share it on Reddit r/Overwatch before being deleted by the moderation.
Event Confirmed
The Overwatch Twitter account made the news official: the event will start on May 19, at 11 am (PT), and will end on June 9.
Leaked Patch Notes
Three new Legendary skins would have leaked — Masquerade Reaper, Dragoon Mercy and Little Red Ashe — as well as three other epic skins that would be obtainable via weekly challenges — Carbon Fiber Sigma, Fleur de Lys Widowmaker and Masked Man McCree.
As for every Anniversary, the patch note announces that all the game's cosmetics will be unlockable for purchase (Credits) or in Loot Boxes. All events will be available in the Arcade mode with a daily rotation — Lunar New Year, Archives, Summer Games, Halloween, and Winter Wonderland.
We can also see at the bottom of the page that the brand new Communication Wheel will be released through this update. It will allow you to personalize your interactions in Overwatch, by choosing your favorite indications. The shortcuts are customizable and can be chosen among 26 communication options.
Pink Mercy
To help support breast cancer research, Blizzard released a Legendary charity skin in 2018. Pink Mercy was available for$15 and during two weeks only. All proceeds were donated to the foundation and had have raised more than $12.7 million.
In its 25 years of existence, the foundation has stated that it has never received such a large gift from a corporation as this one. Since then, some players just want it back.
It looks like Blizzard has been listening to its community, since according to the screenshot of a video from the official Brazilian channel, the skin should be available again for the fourth anniversary of the game.
This model would also be the first "Mythical" skin. A new category of skins would then be added to those already existing — Rare, Epic and Legendary. This must be treated with caution, until it becomes official or not.
If this turns out to be true, we're still wondering which skins could be eligible for this new category. Among the possible ones are the BlizzCon skins, which have never been made available again.
