While Valorant doesn't have yet a well-defined competitive circuit — after all, the ranked queue isn't even back yet — but several organizations already committed to the still-growing esports scene and started to recruit players and form rosters.
Spanish organization G2 Esports just announced the recruitment of their first player, and captain, Oscar "mixwell" Cañellas Colocho.
Given that G2 will organize the first Valorant Ignition Series 2020 in Europe, it's no surprise to see them building their roster...
Mixwell is a respected former player of the CS: GO professional scene. The 24-year-old Spanish player played for Optic Gaming, Movistar Riders, and more recently for Cloud 9, but he stayed quiet since last December. While some were expecting to see him returning to Valve's FPS, he finally decided to transition to Riot Games'.
Before signing at G2, Mixwell splashed the emerging scene of Valorant with his skill. From the beta, he won a multitude of competitive events. including the last European Twitch Rivals. He became the figurehead of the Valorant Pro Division, meaning that he's more than a captain for G2: he's also a good marketing blow for the Spanish organization.
In G2's video, Mixwell earns the right to choose the rest of his team — so it remains to be seen who will be the four to join his sides...
