The 2021 Pokémon World Championships are announced in an official statement from The Pokémon Company. They will resume the bases of those of 2020.

Pokemon World Championships 2021: all information

The various events related to the World Championships (tournaments, competitions among others) have been suspended following the health crisis which is spreading across the world.

As the health and safety of the community is important and given the still uncertain situation, no date has yet been decided for the next Play events! Pokemon. However, we also have information about upcoming Pokémon World Championships. Thus, as those of this year had to be canceled, we find certain similarities with that of 2021.

First, the location will be London, which was originally planned for this year. In addition, the different combat divisions will be the same as those of 2020. Here are the three divisions:

  • Junior Division: Player born after 2008
  • Senior Division: Player born between 2005 and 2008
  • Master Division: Player born before 2005

Then, we also learn that it will last 4 days from a Thursday and that it is scheduled for August 2021. No specific date yet since there can always be a delay if the situation becomes critical again.

For those who had accumulated points in 2020, do not worry, these CPs are not lost since they will be used for the championships of 2021. Of course, it will always be possible to accumulate them next year. This is not all since information on the qualifications of the players is also present in the press release.

To qualify

To be among the lucky ones who will participate in the Pokémon World Championships 2021, you will need to reach a certain amount of Cp in two cycles.

  1. Qualified for Thursday: Have reached the amount necessary for the Worlds 2020. Those who have already qualified for those of 2020 will be automatically qualified for those of 2021
  2. Qualified for Friday: Have reached the new amount of CP required planned in 2021.
