Finally some good news for Esports events. Last week, the first post-COVID tournament was organized in Beijing, China. The 2020 Honor of Kings World Champion Cup was held with an audience for the first time in months.
The conditions were drastic to be able to enter the stadium: identity card, health book, temperature control, masks and social distancing. Despite this, more than 2,000 people gathered to cheer on the winning team, TS Gaming.
This all bodes very well for the League of Legends Worlds, which will take place in Shanghai on September 25. Even if the hosting conditions are still unknown, it's likely that this event was used as a test for what is likely to be one of the biggest tournaments of the year — and especially one of the only ones.
