Following on from the current set, Galaxies, Riot have announced Fates as the fourth set for Teamfight Tactics. It will go live with Patch 10.19

Fates, the new TFT Set 4, lands with Patch 10.19

In his last blog post on the future of Teamfight Tactics, Lead Producer T.J. "Green Teej" Bourus told us that Set 4 will arrive after the League of Legends World Championships. We now know the name of the set, Fates, and that the the update will come on September 16 with Patch 10.19 instead.

The first clues as to the content of the set had already been given — a new theme for Little Legends and Arenas that will venture into a "distant land where their spirit will flourish and their devotion will be put to the test". Images of the first champions to join the set were also discovered, such as Kennen and Elise.

Skin families had also been teased, such as the brand new Spirit Blossom set, alongside Warring Kingdoms and Blood Moon.

Now we know that TFT is shifting radically, from the technology and space-themed Galaxies to a theme centred on gods, monsters and fantasy.

The introductory text found on the official website is as follows:

Ever since the Featherknights have had beaks to go wah! and ears to listen, their songs have told of a secret realm between our world and the next: one of deep magic, where stars plop down from the sky and the land takes on a life of its own.

Small (but still very fearsome) dragons with the power of storm and shadow lead great armies to defend this otherworldly plane. The largest and roundest of their kind have even been known to swallow whole worlds in a single gulp.

It is said greatness awaits those brave enough to fight alongside these beasts. So gods and mortals alike—from splendid Divines to Tormented villains, from kind Spirits to dreadful Phantasms—come from far and wide to seek their Fortunes as the dragons’ Chosen.

But tucked away in the corners of time and space, this world has been lost to outsiders for… basically forever. No one has yet discovered the mysterious glories it holds, and it seems no one ever will—

Wait, is that a portal?

When we think of dragons and League of Legends, the likes of Shyvana and Aurelion Sol come to mind. However, there's alsop the Dragonslayer (Diana, Olaf, Trundle) and Dragon Trainer (Tristana, Heimerdinger, Lulu) lines to think about it. There's even a legacy Dragon Knight Mordekaiser skin that could be called upon.

When it comes to the spirits part of the tweet, Fiddlesticks and Thresh are obvious choices. The Death Sworn line, featuring Katarina and Viktor could also come into play here, as well as the Reaper set featuring Soraka and Hecarim among others. Storm lends itself well to Volibear, Kennen, and Janna, but as for the 'magic' trait, it's anyone's guess at this stage.

What would you like to see in the new Fates set?
