The main campaign of The Witcher 3 was so big that so many players never completed the CD Projekt Red game and many complained about it. Also, the Polish studio is considering a shorter duration for Cyberpunk 2077 in order to allow as many people as possible to go to the end of the adventure. But rest assured, if you plan to invest a lot of time in the game it will remain possible since, according to Patrick K. Mills, the senior quest designer of the title, who spoke in the post-stream of the last Night City Wire, there will be on the other hand, a lot to do outside the main story.
The developers have therefore shortened the main story of the title but in return promise much more complex side quests than in the previous title of the studio. Each can lead to other side quests which in turn will impact other quests, including those related to the main story, unlike The Witcher 3 rather designed as "a single line, with a bunch of branches coming out of it.". More resources have also been allocated in this direction to Cyberpunk 2077 than to The Witcher 3, in particular 15 people assigned to open world quests against only 2 or 3 at the end of the development process for The Witcher 3. In addition, the title should offer much greater replayability.
The head of the CD Projekt Red studio even clarified that there would be around 75 "street stories" quests which are one of the four types of quests available, alongside the main missions, side missions and shorter minor quests. . And completing the street stories will strengthen V's reputation in the city, giving him a greater aura and therefore increased influence.
