Division Rivals returns to FIFA 21 with some slight changes. In this article, we'll explain everything about how the mode works and the rewards it offers.

Division Rivals first arrived at the start of the online seasons two years ago. This mode parallels the Squad Battles mode on FUT 21.

Like the dynamic ranking ( ladder ) of Squad Battles, playing your division matches will allow you to place yourself in different ranks, giving you access to weekly competitions with the key rewards in line with your performance.

Placement matches

To begin with, you will have to play 5 " placement " matches in order to obtain a rank which will determine the division in which you will be placed.

The result of each of the first 30 games played during the week will impact your rank and of course, obtaining new points will allow you to advance to the higher division. Each week of Division Rivals is like a competition and your final score will determine your position among 6 different ranks within your division.

Matchmaking has also changed so that a player who has reached the 2200 point mark can still find an opponent easily.

The rewards

At the end of each week of Division Rivals, on Thursday morning starting at 9:00 a.m. , you will have the option to choose a reward determined by your final rank and several options will be available to you between redeemable or non-redeemable packs but also credits (in addition to qualifying points for FUT Champions). On top of those rewards, this season EA Sports has added a Division Rise Bounty. If you go up a division you will get additional credits.

Also, let's not forget that Division Rivals also allows you to get points to qualify for FUT Champions on the weekend. It can be quite tricky to reach the 2000 points required to unlock the Weekend League Access Token. This will take longer for players in the lower divisions as less points are awarded for a win.

It is not essential to win several games in a row to qualify. However, the less successful players will have to be patient to reach the famous 2000 points in order to participate in a FUT Champions weekend.

After each week, your Weekly Ranking will reset , but not your Skill Rating , which determines your Division, nor your FUT Champions Points which you can continue to accumulate to unlock the precious token.
