A new North American organization could very soon have its own Valorant roster. NRG Esports — which had already organized tournaments when the game was released — has still not recruited a competitive team.
While the organization has Apex Legends, Overwatch or Rocket League teams, it would now like to add a new string to its bow. According to the rumors, relayed by Rusb B Media, it would primarily target a coach and two pro players from the CS:GO competitive scene.
The organization would be currently under negotiation with coach Chet "Chet" Singh. The latter is familiar with NRG Esports, having coached their CS:GO team for just over a year. He also had the opportunity to prove his worth to Evil Geniuses or 100 Thieves.
Chet hasn't signed yet, but he would already have two priority targets in his sights if he joins the project: Damien "daps" Steele and Sam "s0m" Oh. These two CS:GO pro players would then offer a solid base of skills and experience to build a competitive team.
daps and s0m have the added advantage of knowing each other. They played together at Gen.G Esports and won the DreamHack Open Anaheim 2020. For this transfer to take place, the contractual situation of s0m will have to be settled. The latter is still under contract with Gen.G Esports. No worries on the daps side: he is currently a free agent.
