Starting October 8th, anyone who pre-ordered the digital version of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War on PS4 will be able to enjoy an Early Access Beta Weekend.
For those that haven't pre-ordered, the beta will be available from October 10th.
Treyarch tells us that elements of the alpha have been reworked to ensure a better playing experience for the beta. Moreover, Activision will announce what content will be included in the beta. It is expected that more maps, game modes and more will be available to play.
Summary of beta dates
First weekend - PS4
- From October 8th to October 10th - Early Access
- October 10th to October 12th - PS4 Open Beta
Second weekend - PS4, Xbox One and PC
-
From October 15 to October 19
→ PS4 players will be able to take advantage of an Open Beta period for this test weekend
Activision has also announced the time of the beta - it will start at 10 AP PT on October 8th. A pre-download will be available 24 hours before the beta goes live.
Also note that digital pre-orders will not need an access code for early access, the purchase already grants you access as soon as the beta can be downloaded.
However, users who pre-ordered a physical version will not be able to take advantage of these two days of early access, so they will have to wait until October 10th to get in the action. However, key drops are still available on Treyarch's Discord, so don't hesitate to give it a shot!
