Sony is preparing its machinery to promote PS5, which will hit stores on November 12 in USA. Logically, as a company, they have sales expectations with which they make forecasts about the consoles they can sell during the coming months.
Jim Ryan, head of Sony Interactive Entertainment, has given clues about Sony's estimates of sales. He hasn't given specific details but they intend to exceed 7 million consoles sold before next April 2021. In this way, it would exceed the figures obtained by PS4 in its first months of life.
During the Naver interview, Jim Ryan said that he expects the PlayStation 5 to "sell more in its first fiscal year than [we] sold in the first fiscal year at the time of [the] PS4 launch."
PS5 pre-orders have flown, almost literally. Right now it's very difficult to get hold of a new generation Sony console unless you have reserved it. This has caused speculation to be present about the machine and there are users who have it for sale at exorbitant prices.
Although from the Japanese company they affirm that there will be no stock problems at its launch. During the last months the rumor of problems when manufacturing the console has circulated due to the health situation; but it seems that Sony has acted correctly so that there are no problems, being able to manufacture 14 million consoles until March 2021. In this way, the estimated figures could be reached and exceeded.
Spider-Man Miles Morales or Demon's Souls will be some of the reasons to buy PS5 at launch.
