A new partner joins Overwatch Esports. IBM has just signed a multi-year OWL deal.
"The collaboration between IBM and the Overwatch League will include new technology solutions, built on the IBM Cloud to be launched in the 2021 season. The solutions, currently under development, will leverage IBM’s suite of AI and Analytics tools to process in-match League data. These tools include Watson Studio services (Watson Machine Learning, AutoAI) as well as Natural Language Processing and Watson Discovery."
This partnership will cover the entire Overwatch League Grand Finals but also the next two seasons(2021-2022). Such an important partnership ensures the continuation of the League and it also reassures on its stability.
The OWL joins a long list of sports organizations supported by IBM. This is quite symbolic since this is the first time the company support esports.
