In PS4 version 8.00, some chat features have been modified. Some players seem concerned about a new privacy notice that appears on the Sony console.
Users received a message indicating that voice conversations could be recorded and used by PlayStation — although it's up to players to take action and send conversations if necessary.
Many users have expressed concern about this, fearing for their privacy. So much so that Sony had to send a message about it, stating that "the notification advises you that other users may be recording your voice conversation", confirming that they don't record group chats.
All this is derived from the fact that the PS5 will include a voice recording function so that users can report the toxic behavior of other players. This feature will be available as soon as the console is launched and will allow players to record conversations and report them if necessary.
This is a feature already available on PS4 as a test and assumes a positive change for the future of online gaming. Abusive and toxic behaviors will be more easily highlighted while they're unfortunately still too present.
Don't forget that the PS5 will be released on November 19.
