From this summer, you will no longer be able to play Pokemon GO from your Apple Watch. Niantic have confirmed the end of compatibility between its mobile game and the Apple device, which will take effect on July 1, 2019.
The watch had a special interface for mobile gaming. The Apple Watch allowed trainers to play more easily — and especially hatch Eggs — by recording even the slightest movement made.
According to Niantic, the use of Apple Watch by trainers was drastically reduced due to the advent of the Adventure Sync feature (exploration tracking) in October 2018.
This features allows your mobile phone to record distances traveled — even when the Pokémon GO application is turned off.
This Apple Watch/Adventure Sync redundancy will therefore cease to exist on July 1!
