Misfits Gaming are set to make an unorthodox move in their League of Legends division: according to a report from Esportmaniacos which investigative journalist Jacob Wolf later confirmed, they are set to sign Vincent "Vetheo" Berrié for their League of Legends European Championship (LEC) roster for 2021.
The player would join a Misfits Gaming side that is still undergoing changes, with the potential arrival of Oskar "Vander" Bogdan as the starting LEC support and the confirmed departure of Danny "Dan Dan" Le Comte. The move would also signal the likely end of Fabian "FEBIVEN" Diepstraten's tenure within the organization, which crashed in the summer split despite showing a strong spring split performance under his leadership.
Vetheo's meteoric rise in French-side La Ligue Française (LFL) shaped the fate of the regional league and of his team, LDLC OL. Although the team did not win a trophy in the French league during the 2020 season, it did carry the LFL to a European Masters title in the 2020 spring split ahead of Łukasz "Puki Style" Zygmunciak's K1CK Neosurf. Furthermore, the team placed consistently in the top four spots of the French scene, with the mid laner being a major contributor to its success.
Despite playing only a single year professionally, Vetheo has showcased a solid champion pool mixing assassins (LeBlanc, Yasuo, Zoe and Akali) and control mages (Syndra, Cassiopeia and Ryze). Furthermore, he adapted to patch changes, including Lucian and Orianna to his repertoire, and showcased a rare affinity for Ezreal in the mid lane to provide drafting flexibility.
