To celebrate the release of Pokémon the Movie: Secrets of the Jungle, a special event will take place on Pokémon GO. This event will mark the return of Jessie and James in the game, but also the arrival of a Special Research allowing to capture Shiny Celebi!
Shiny Celebi in a Special Research
Starting Monday, December 14, 2020 at 8 a.m. local time, you will be able to complete a special research to unlock Celebi shiny and other rewards:
- A special, limited-time Research, guided by Jessie and James and inspired by the movie will be available. Complete this Study to meet Shiny Celebi.
- Jessie and James will be back aboard their Meowth hot air balloon for a limited time. They received Shadow Pokémon from Team GO Rocket that were different from what they had the last time they visited Pokémon GO.
- New free cosmetic items in Style Shop inspired by Jessie and James outfits in Pokémon the movie: Secrets of the Jungle.
Meet Explorer Pikachu
From Monday December 14, 2020 at 8 a.m. to Monday December 21, 2020 at 10 p.m., you will be able to capture a brand new costumed Pikachu:
- Explorer Pikachu will appear in the wild and in Raids. You might even meet a shiny Explorer Pikachu...
- Jessie and James may appear in your snapshot during the event.
- During Featured Pokémon Hour on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., Explorer Pikachu will appear in the wild more frequently, and you will receive double Candy for each Pokémon caught.
