After a short delay to enable Treyarch to refine some of the content, the first season of post-launch content for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is here.
The new season brings one of the largest drops of content ever seen, with new maps, game modes, Operators, Battle Pass, and more arriving to the game on December 16th.
One of the new additions to the weapon arsenal is a sledgehammer.

How to Unlock
To unlock the sledgehammer melee weapon, score two or more kills rapidly with the combat knife in 15 different matches.
Considering that some of the maps are far too big for the combat knife to be a viable option, we recommend using it on Nuketown '84 and Crossroads Strike as they are two of the smallest maps in the game.
Once the challenge has been completed, the sledgehammer will be unlocked in the Melee weapons tab.
By completing the challenge, players will also earn 1000 XP.
