ScreenRant had the opportunity to interview Call of Duty League manager Johanna Faries. She announced that Warzone integration will be expanded during the 2021 season.

Despite the fact that Warzone has several competitions organized by third-party tournament providers, the Call of Duty League managed to do a few matches with players from different franchises.

In addition, we also see the likes of Vikkstar, former kill record holder, hosting small tournaments to cater for the demand of competition. It was always interesting to see pro players fighting for the top spot.

As we know, Warzone is a game that is full of cheaters despite the various legal interventions made by Activision. Infinity Ward attempted to clamp down on cheaters but a lack of anti-cheat means hackers are still running rife.

In an interview with Screenrant, Johanna Faries stated that there are plans to expand Warzone's integration within the Call of Duty League, potentially suggesting that there could be official competitive Warzone matches on the horizon.

On the other hand, it could be an expansion on the Weekend Warzone tournaments that took place during the 2020 season.

Regardless of what it could be, it is an extremely exciting time to be a fan and player of competitive Warzone.

“There are [plans to bring Warzone to the Call of Duty League], and we're excited to announce those plans in the weeks and months to come. We've been following the introduction and insane popularity of Warzone closely since last spring. We brought in some Warzone related content with our pros last season, but took advantage of the offseason to think about what a more structured investment might look like. There are some really exciting things to come this season. "

Further Warzone integration has the potential to put more eyeballs on the CDL, which is certainly a positive for the league entering its second season.

With details expected to be revealed once the regular season gets underway, it will be interesting to see how the battle royale will be utilized.
