The League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) is partnering with non-profit organization Blood Centers of America, one of the USA's largest blood donation centers, to contribute to the nation's battle against the COVID-19 pandemic. During March, Blood Centers of America will be the league's 'Official First Blood Partner', a press release announced.
Fans of the LCS who have had COVID-19 but have since recovered are called upon to donate convalescent plasma. The blood plasma contains antibodies that can be used to help patients who currently are infected with the novel corona virus. As a token of gratitude, people who participate in the program will receive a code to claim the K/DA All Out Kai'Sa skin.
Though the United States is quickly ramping up its production fo vaccines to combat COVID-19, the country is still among the highest-ranked when it comes to cases per capita. In total, almost 29 million people have had the virus, and over 500 thousand people have lost their lives due to it.
