Riot Games has announced an expansion of a partnership they already had with Nerd Street Gamers, a company network of esports venues and events. With the partnership, Nerd Street Gamers will be put in charge of producing and operating all VALORANT Champions Tour events for all three stages of competitive VALORANT this year.
The first stage of VALORANT esports is already close to finishing, with just a few online qualifiers remaining before the first VALORANT Masters event is held later this month. However, this isn't the only tournament series Nerd Street Gamers will be put in charge of. They'll also be running the Game Changer Series, which is aimed at providing a healthy competitive environment for people who face online harassment because of their gender.
In a press release, Riot Games NA and OCE Head of Esports Partnerships Matthew Archambault said: “Our relationship with Nerd Street Gamers has been a core driver in the growth of the VALORANT competitive scene. With the company’s expertise in esports tournament operations, we can distinguish our VALORANT tournaments as a force in the industry rooted in high-quality professional-grade opportunities. Nerd Street has continuously proved to be a trusted partner and we are excited to extend our relationship with the Champions Tour and level it up with VCT Game Changers Series."
