The entire Warzone community has been talking about the destruction of Verdansk for what seems like an eternity.
Although there have been a range of modifications to the map, including a subway system, train, and ziplines, several theories are pointing towards a complete overhaul of the map.
With Warzone's first anniversary celebrations in full swing, is anything going to happen on March 11th?
The end of the Outbreak event
March 11th marks the end of the Outbreak event for Black Ops Cold War and Warzone.
Players have been able to complete a range of challenges across both titles, unlocking a variety of cosmetic items.
Coincidentally, the event comes to an end in time for Warzone's first anniversary. Is a brand-new event about to begin?
The Zombie Outbreak
With the discovery of Zombie camos in Warzone's files and the ever-growing possibility of the Zombie outbreak spreading from outside of the shipwreck, many players believe that the end of Verdansk will happen once a complete Zombie takeover has taken place.
The outbreak spreading has been confirmed by the official Call of Duty Twitter account, which posted a breaking news report which saw the undead leaving the confines of the ship and beginning to spread across the map.
Once the undead has taken control of Verdansk, will the last resort see the launch of the nuke?
The Nuke event and the destruction of Verdansk on Warzone
At the start of Season Two, new missile silos revealed a nuclear missile primed for launch.
With the additions of new points of interest and a missile ready to be launched, surely the new map is right around the corner?!
The next map is slated to be much larger than Verdansk, and the latest rumors seem to indicate that it may well be a map featuring all of the maps available in Black Ops Cold War's Fireteam mode.
When Is Verdansk Being Destroyed?
Considering the lack of teasers surrounding some form of event taking place, the missile being detonated on March 11th would be a stretch.
The latest rumors are pointing to an event taking place towards the end of Season Two, allowing for Season Three to mark the release of a brand new map into the battle royale.
Will Verdansk be gone for good? We will have to wait and see...
