TSM has added a new esports team to its name, and a second one to compete in Riot Games' character-based shooter VALORANT. With a roster filled with female talent, the organization is joining the rapidly growing interest in the game's esport scene.
The five players competing under TSM's banner are: Catherine “Cath” Leroux, Katherine “LunarKats” So, Emily “mle” Peters, Zoe “Zoe” Servais, and Mirna “Athxna” Noureldin. TSM founder and CEO Andy "Reginald" Dinh spoke enthusiastically about the mix of FPS esports veterans and upcoming VALORANT talent: “We wanted the best players to build out our competitive VALORANT presence - and we found them. Cath is a veteran leader who has shown clear dominance in various matches since 2017. Athxna shows real prowess as an in-game leader, and with the raw skill that LunarKats, mle, and Zoe possess, I see huge potential for this team.”
The lineup will compete in Riot Games' VCT Game Changers, a competition designed to provide a healthy competitive environment for genders that face continuous harassment and oppression in the gaming industry. Aside from TSM, Cloud9 is the only notable esports team that already fields a lineup to compete in Game Changers.
VALORANT's first VCT Game Changers tournament kicks off this weekend, on March 19th.
Sentinels has brought TenZ on board of their VALORANT team to stand in for sinatraa during VCT Masters Stage 1.
