Travelers in Genshin Impact will learn how to play magic tennis in a few days. “Kaboomball Kombat” is an upcoming challenge that will let you win Enigma Gears.
The main goal of this challenge is to defeat Dodofortresses, big towers with angry faces that will shoot Kaboomballs at Travelers. In order to beat them, you’ll need to use a Dodoguard (a kind of floating shield) and deflect the balls back to the towers.
When deflecting a ball, you can do a “Normal Return” or a “Perfect Return”. The former is the most basic attack, but the latter will deal additional damage.
To do a Perfect Return, you’ll need to hit the ball at the exact correct moment. Some Dodofortresses will have shields that can only be destroyed with Perfect Returns, so you will need to work on your timing.
Every time a tower is hit, it will increase its Fury meter. When the gauge is complete, the Dodofortress will start throwing balls more frequently, and some of them will even be special Kaboomballs.
During the challenge, six different types of balls will be thrown at you, each one of them with a unique positive or negative effect. For example, the “Foggy-Groggy Ball” will make it harder to see if you are hit and don’t return it, while the “Breezy-Burny Ball” will grant you additional damage, whether you do a Normal Return or a Perfect.

Regarding rewards, completing Challenge Quests will bring Enigma Gears. These items can then be exchanged for materials using the exclusive Event Shop (check the image below).
However, this Shop will close a few days after the event and any remaining Enigma Gears will be lost, so redeem them before July 16.
“Kaboomball Kombat” will start on July 2 and end on July 12. Travelers need to be at least Adventure Rank 21 to be able to participate.
Starting tomorrow, Travelers will be able to enjoy a collaboration between Google Play and Genshin Impact. When buying gift cards, they will obtain exclusive in-game rewards.
