At the start of the year, Licorice was still considered one the top League of Legends toplaners in North America. Today, we don't really know what to think anymore. The Canadian is much less brilliant than in his time at Cloud9, with whom he attended Worlds in 2018 and 2019 before being crowned LCS champion in 2020.
Having become rather average with FlyQuest, he has now joined Golden Guardians right in the middle of the Summer Split. The two teams and player all agreed on the new start, and could give him a new lease of life in relaunching his career.
The deal may seem bizarre, as Golden Guardians (8-25) are currently in direct competition with FlyQuest (9-24) to advance to the Playoffs and potentially a shot at Worlds.
FlyQuest will move forward with a roster of Kumo, Nxi, Triple, Tomo, and Diamond. Kumo will double up and play alongside the Academy roster of Josedeodo, Palafox, Johnsun and Dreams also.
With the arrival of Licorice, veteran Solo has been benched by Golden Guardians, although he has been given permission to look for another team. He will, however, continue to be paid until November should a move not materialise.
