On Twitter, CharlieIntel has revealed that Season 5 of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Warzone could be postponed due to an extension to the Season 4 Battle Pass -- something that has surprised us quite a bit.
Season 4 should have ended this morning, but is still live due to a last-minute 24-hour extension. Usually, each season ends one day before the next, so that developers have time to make as many adjustments as possible to launch the new season, but this time it's different.
No announcements have been made, and there is no explicit reason why Season 4 has been extended -- so does that mean Season 5 is delayed? It certainly seems that way.
However, it is not impossible that the delay is due to something small but crucial that needs taking care of, such as a display bug.
If sticking to schedule, Season 5 should begin promptly on August 12. Kitsune will be the star operator, doing battle alongside Stitch. New weapons are planned, in particular the TEC-9 and the EM2.
For Warzone, a mid-season event is on the horizon, while the next Call of Duty is expected to be announced at some point throughout this new season.
