The feisty croc is one of the champions with the greatest presence throughout the history of competitve League, and always ends up being a priority for teams.
He has been at the top of the rankings since MSI 2021, where he also topped the list of best champions. He's been part of a trend in which his presence in games has not dipped below 70% since Patch 11.11.
Historically an early game champion, his effectiveness has changed with the radical changes to the item system, and is now an offensive threat at all times in a match.
He's had a peak presence of 81.6% in the summer split, which also saw him used as a midlaner at times -- although with less success.
Renekton could prove to be one of the game's most outstanding champions at Worlds. He has survived the nerf to his bonus mobility, and remains in tip-top shape with no further changes in sight.
Other candidates
Due to the major changes to the toplane in preseason and further meddling since, this role has been the most adaptive across the League of Legends season.
As such, there are some other candidates to keep an eye on at Worlds.
