Since its launch in 2020, Genshin Impact has proved extremely popular. The free-to-play title that blends AAA production with mobile gaming gacha mechanics has been a massive success for developer miHoYo, despite accusations pre-release of being a clone of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
Now, data from Safe Betting Sites, a site which measures hours watched on Twitch, has released information from June that Genshin's viewership grew by 57%.
This amounts to 16.8 million hours broadcast -- only surpassed by October 2020, its launch month, where 32 million hours were shown.
This makes it clear that Genshin Impact is not only a record-breaking revenue hit, but is also popular with those who prefer to watch it from the sidelines.
The site notes that a peak of more than 500,000 viewers was reached in June, and that the figures have increased in July and August since the introduction of Inazuma.
