After rumours swirled for months, Riot confirmed that League of Legends original virtual band were to get a new release.
Pentakill III: Lost Chapter will hit major streaming sites on September 8, and to mark the occasion Riot are putting on a concert, described as an 'interactive album experience'.
Taking place on the same day, starting at 1pm PT, fans can watch Pentakill perform tracks from the album, as well as interact with other fans and even choose what happens during the event.
Created in collaboration with virtual entertainment company Wave and production studio The Mill, it will mark the culmination of an ARG campaign through social networks that builds on the Pentakill lore.
Aconcept album, Lost Chapter will touch on several subgenres of metal. Riot's Head of Music, Toa Dunn had the following to say:
“We’re excited to continue to push the envelope in music and storytelling with Pentakill,” he said.
“With our partners at Wave, The Mill, and We Are Royale, we have set out to showcase what the future of virtual entertainment experiences can be.”
