Amid several days of rumors, the existence of Alan Wake 2 has now been made official.
Sam Lake, Remedy founder and writer for the likes of Max Payne and Control, took to the stage at The Game Awards to reveal a typically moody trailer for the sequel, which comes with a 2023 release date.
Very little was revealed about the game from the trailer, but it was enough to plunge us back into the dark atmosphere of the survival horror-type action-adventure of the original.
Alan Wake 2 will be released on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, as well as on the Epic Games Store.
Lake announced that more details would come in the summer of 2022, most likely as part of Geoff Keighley's Summer Games Fest.
This comes on the heels of Alan Wake Remastered, as well as a crossover DLC for Control.
