We were talking about it just a few days ago, Ubisoft is working on a secret project codenamed " Project Q ". The latter is no longer so secret today since, faced with the revelations of insider Tom Henderson , the studio has decided to play the surprise reveal card by officially unveiling their future game. At least, in part.
What more do we know about Project Q compared to our last article on the subject ? Let's see it together.
What awaits us in Project Q
Still under development and currently in the internal testing phase, Project Q will be a Battle Arena-like PvP game as planned. On the other hand, contrary to what the leaks suggested, there will be no Battle Royale mode in the game. Here are all the official details in our possession:
- Project Q is indeed a codename, the game will have an official name which is still unknown
- It will be released on the following platforms: PS4 , PS5 , Xbox One , Xbox Series X|S and PC
- You can register on the Ubisoft website to receive news about the version you are interested in and possibly participate in test phases in the future
- PvP will be at the heart of the gameplay but the "fun" aspect is highlighted . We can deduce that the game is not particularly competitive and has no ambition on the eSport side.
- No Battle Royale
-
No NFTs
This information already allows us to glimpse the future game from Ubisoft in a little more detail. In the end, there will not be two modes available but a priori a greater number of which the Battle Royale will not be part of it. On the other hand, the Battle Arena aspect is widely put forward, so it is indeed in this direction that the game was designed. We already wondered in our last article: can we really oppose League of Legends?
As far as the technical aspect is concerned, the promise of a release on all modern media, taking into account the PS4 and Xbox One, is a pleasure. Whether the game will be cross-platform remains to be seen, which would be perfect. One can ask the question of the communication around the NFT which arrives so quickly in the announcement of the project. The reason is simple: a good part of the community was afraid that "Project Q" would refer to " Project Quartz ", Ubisoft's cryptocurrency.
Ubisoft assures it: no NFT in the game
In the comments of the official tweet, we can observe a great fear on the part of the community : the introduction of NFT in the game. A user writes that the "Q" could probably stand for "Quartz", as we had already been able to see it in various threads around the leaks a few days ago.
In December 2021, Ubisoft announced the Quartz currency and enabled it in Ghost Recon Breakpoint . The players were very unhappy about it. With the "Q" in the new game's codename, they feared a return of this currency. But the studio affirms it:
You can register for these test phases via the link given above in the list of official details. Anyway, it seems that Project Q is becoming clearer and that Ubisoft has decided to massively involve its community , whether in terms of decisions or testing. We can therefore hope for a good PvP game that will perhaps allow you to relax between two LoL games!
