The co-op love game, It Takes Two , will soon land in film. While this great news was announced last February, today we learn a little more about the production team, which includes a Hollywood star , just that!
It Takes Two, what is it?
It Takes Two is, as its English name suggests, a cooperative game in which players embody a couple, May and Cody , who, following a wish from their dear child, will turn into dolls and have to face a whole series of trials to save their marriage and regain their human form.
The game, developed by Hazelight studio on behalf of Electronic Arts, was awarded at the Game Awards 2021 as best game of the year as well as best cooperative game . Let's not be afraid to say it, these are well-deserved awards.
The gentle adventure has therefore attracted the attention of the public, and of certain film producers such as dj2 Entertainment , who have therefore joined forces with Hazelight Studios to adapt this nugget into a film.
A shock team
Josef Fares and his studios have therefore surrounded themselves with the best for this film adaptation project. First of all, we find dj2 Entertainment, which specializes in the production of films adapted from video games like Sonic (2020) or the Life is Strange series. The production team also includes Seven Bucks and Amazon Studios .
But the team of Seven Bucks would have, according to an article of Variety , recruited a Hollywood star as a production manager for the film It Takes Two. We won't hold the suspense any longer, it's about… The Rock !
Dwayne Johnson is world famous for his roles in blockbusters like Fast & Furious , Jumanji , Baywatch and many more! This is a figure of international cinema who would take part in the project.
What makes this information more than credible is that Seven Bucks Productions have, in the past, worked extensively with Dwayne Johnson on projects like Red Notice or Young Rock , a series retracing The Rock's childhood. So it wouldn't be so surprising if the studios tapped the star for the production of this movie.
According to Variety, Dwayne Johnson might even have a role in front of the camera! Maybe as Cody?
To be continued on Amazon Prime!
According to this same source, the production will be broadcast on Amazon Prime . Given that Amazon is participating in the project, it wouldn't be surprising if the film were available on the streaming platform.
We still do not know an official release date for It Takes Two in film, however, we know that the project is progressing and that we will soon be able to discover or rediscover the moving adventures of Cody and May!
