LoL: No MSI for Sjokz
0

While the League of Legends Mid Season Invitational will begin on May 10, Eefje "Sjokz" Depoortere announced on Twitter that she will not be participating in the event. She has chosen to host the desk of PGL Antwerp, a CS:GO major that will take place in Belgium.

Eefje " Sjokz " Depoortere — an iconic figure in the League of Legends scene — will not be at the Mid Season Invicational this year. Sjokz has indeed chosen to be host for PGL Antwerp, a CS:GO major which will take place in Belgium. We suspect that the choice was difficult, but the two tournaments have similar dates: the first will take place from May 10 to 29 in Busan, South Korea, while the second will take place from May 9 to 22 in Antwerp.

A choice of the heart

The first international League of Legends competition of the year is just around the corner! The group draw for the first phase of the tournament has already been done – a very advantageous draw for our Europeans – and Riot Games is continuing its preparations. If almost all the teams are already known, we do not yet know the names of the commentators and interviewers who will take care of hosting the event have not yet been communicated by Riot Games. In any case, it will not be necessary to count on Sjokz who she has chosen to host a major CS:GO in her native country.

"Working on the Major, I will not go to MSI. It was a very difficult decision to make, and I am grateful to Riot for understanding. Being part of a Major in my home country is an honor that I never thought I'd get. I'm going to give 100 per cent."

This is the first time that a CS:GO Major has taken place in Belgium, an opportunity that Sjokz could not miss . Even if we won't see her on the MSI stage this year, we know with almost certainty that she will perform just as well at PGL Antwerp. Not content to be the face of the LEC for years, she has already worked on the BLASTs in 2019 and 2020. And we can be sure that between two matches, she will follow the clashes of the best teams from the various Spring Splits.
