Sony's new PS Plus is fast approaching and some players have been victims of a subscription problem that has caused reactions on the networks. Indeed, their prepaid card does not seem to work!

PS5: Goodbye prepaid cards, hello trouble!

The arrival of the new PlayStation Plus is fast approaching because on June 22, the good old system that we know will merge with PlayStation Now, offering three new types of subscriptions .

A new device which, depending on the formula chosen, will give players access to a catalog of various games , including many retro productions. A rather interesting idea, which should benefit Sony, as well as its community.

However, implementing this system requires a complete rework of PS Plus, which seems to have caused several issues, including one that has a lot of gamers outraged.

Sony, we have a problem

Indeed, in recent days, the Sony system seems to be the victim of some malfunctions and strange behavior. At the beginning of the week, it was no less than 54 games that had vanished and had disappeared from the PS Now catalog. Today, it is the PS Plus prepaid cards that no longer seem to work for some English-speaking users.

The Twitter user above purchased a prepaid PS Plus subscription card to renew for another three months. However, the code does not work and this message is displayed on its screen: "The prepaid card could not be exchanged. Please try again later" .

Around the world, similar cases have been popping up on social media, causing some players to get angry. The problem, which seems to apply exclusively to users wishing to renew their PS Plus subscription, has therefore caught the attention of Sony, which has provided some explanations to its clueless players.

Transition issues

In a support email , PlayStation teams explained: "There is a temporarily disabled feature for PS Plus / PS Now subscriptions that does not allow either subscription to be stacked onto already active subscriptions. This is only temporary and as soon as we have more information on this we will let our players know."

Millenium

As we approach the arrival of the new PS Plus, it seems that the company has temporarily disabled some features of the subscription system, preventing some players from renewing the latter.

It is important to note that, as soon as the new PS Plus is released, players who are already subscribers will have absolutely nothing to do and the transition will be made automatically to the subscription formula at the same price. In any case, users affected by this problem will have to wait a while, there is no doubt that the PlayStation teams will not let it last.
