Fall Guys, Mediatonic 's battle royale party game that went Free-to-play on the Epic Games Store, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, PS5 & PS4 on June 21, is getting a second life! Indeed, after a resounding release almost two years ago, Fall Guys is breaking a new player record.
A second youth
Fall Guys owes its success mainly to the enthusiasm of many streamers on Twitch , who very quickly made battle royale a multiplayer classic. Today still very popular with content creators and their communities of viewers, it was by becoming free on all platforms that Fall Guys exploded its player record.
Indeed, just 48 hours after going Free-to-Play, Fall Guys already had 20 million players , despite some small server and connectivity problems. Today, two weeks after this feat, the Mediatonic team celebrates the 50 million players with a tweet.
Of course, every success does not come without its share of negativity. Just look at the replies under the tweet above to see that a handful of players are complaining about the change in the financial model which has given way to microtransactions, the progression system, or even the cross-platform which, from after them, would encourage cheating.
Despite these criticisms, Fall Guys therefore continues its momentum and even releases a new challenge limited in time.
The Abstergo Challenge
The Abstergo Challenge , named after the Abstergo Industries that serve as the front for the Order of the Templars, is an event to celebrate the crossover with the Assassin's Creed franchise.
“The sweet thieves have managed to sneak back into Fall Guys. The rules haven't changed. Guardians defend their precious treats, while thieves try to steal these sweet treasures without being seen! explains the official press release .
Here are all the rewards offered during the event:
- Nickname "Animus Apprentice" - 100 points
- 200 Kudos - 300 points
- Nameplate "Apple of Eden" - 500 points
- Motif "Synchronization with the Animus" - 700 points
- "Apple of Eden" backpack - 1,000 points
Two new costumes are also arriving in the shop: that of " Eivor the Friend of the Wolves " and " Odin the Father of all things ", available respectively at 1200 Emissous or together in a pack that contains other surprises at 2000 Émissous. It will also be possible to wear Ezio's white regalia thanks to the Season Pass. Other rewards and surprises will be available for the duration of the Abstergo Challenge event.
