Disney Dreamlight Valley is finally released on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 in Early Access on all platforms. The opportunity for you to discover this magical world and restore it by finding lost Disney and Pixar characters. All means are good: whether it's exploring the open world by unlocking the passages of nocturnal thorns thanks to the Dreamlight, or going through the castle and its magic paintings. If you are careful when you enter the castle of dreams, you will also see that there are dozens and dozens of other tables just waiting to be opened but which are still blocked for the moment. !
An almost infinite possibility of characters
Currently there are only 17 Disney/Pixar characters available in Disney Dreamlight Valley and only 4 realm tables to discover in addition to the different biomes. Suffice to say that only 5% of the characters known to the franchise are currently present and that content updates at Gameloft should be regular, even during early access! Especially since during D23 this weekend, Disney announced that a free content update would take place this fall to add three new characters: Scar, Woody and Buzz Lightyear.
With more than 200 films and feature films and almost double the number of iconic characters (since in a single film we can completely list 2 or 3 characters), you realize that the game has enormous potential. It's hard to know how far the capabilities of the open world will take us, but we can easily imagine that around fifty other characters will be added over time.
Which characters could be added soon?
Warning, this part may contain spoilers on the currently available storyline of the game. not the case. We will have to wait until the beginning of autumn to see Scar but we hope that Timon , Pumba and Simba will also be there as shown in the game trailer! A second update will then add a new kingdom via a table: that of Toy-Story. We can then bring Buzz and Woody back to our village.
But what's next? Personally, I'm eagerly awaiting the arrival of Rapunzel and Flynn Rider . With Mother Gothel already present in the Bayou de la Confiance, no doubt the two lovebirds will soon join the roster of characters. And speaking of Bayou, this is a biome largely inspired by The Princess and the Frog : Tiana should therefore also probably be available before the full game is released in 2023.

Looking at the trailers and official images of the game, we know in advance that the following characters will be added soon:

My hopes
I also dream of a biome inspired by China where we could find Mulan and Mushu . Especially since one of the dishes in the game refers to the rice porridge eaten by the warrior princess. And if we look at the other recipes, we also see an Aurora cake. Sleeping Beauty should therefore logically also be part of the list of characters. Maleficent will therefore likely be available to join villains like Ursula and Gothel. Also in the recipes, we find the gooseberry pie from Snow White . Another clue for the arrival of the beautiful princess in the game?
The other universe that I would like to see happen as soon as possible is that of Peter Pan with of course Peter, Tinkerbell but also Captain Hook . Especially since the game's ocean ends in a gigantic waterfall and it would be very simple to add a pirate ship in the distance. Why not with Jack Sparrow too?
I don't know if actual Disney movies like Pirates of the Caribbean or even Star Wars (yes) will be added. It would greatly surprise me even if I wouldn't say no to an Obi Wan Kenobi to whom I would give tons of gifts. If we stick to animated feature films, my two favorites are undoubtedly Monsters Inc. and Beauty and the Beast . You see, the possibilities are immense. Looking a little at the "Memories" tab of the game, we see that all the licenses are represented and that it is almost impossible to guess in advance which will be the next characters added.
In short, this is what I imagine for the sequel to Disney Dreamlight Valley:
- Early fall: Scar released (and hopefully Simba, Nala, Timon and Pumba even though it's not written on the official tweet),
- Mid-Autumn: Toy-Story Kingdom with Buzz and Woody,
- Winter: arrival of Snow White, Grumpy, Aurora and Maleficent,
- January/February 2023: arrival of Mulan and Mushu for the Chinese New Year,
- March 2023: addition of Lilo and Stitch (we see them on official visuals of the game),
- Unknown game release date: A huge content update for the official release with characters from Peter Pan, Beauty and the Beast and more,

A major summer update: and finally, I imagine a nice update for the summer of 2023 with the underwater world of Nemo where we could actually swim with Ariel, Dory or even Luca!
