After 4 long years of waiting, God of War Ragnarok is finally at the gates of our consoles, with a release in thirty short days. The opportunity to take stock of all the release information that has been released bit by bit in recent weeks, before embarking on a battle that should shake the Nordic gods on November 9th .
Weight and preload
For the moment the weight of the PlayStation 5 version is unknown , but if we refer to the latest big games from the manufacturer, we would not be surprised if it takes up close to 90gb on our magic SSDs. However, rest assured, Sony should give players quite a bit of time to download the game, since the preload should be launched a good week before the official launch, whether on PS4 or PS5.
Lifetime
Thanks to some indiscretions from the American JV press, we have a first estimate of the number of hours to see the end of GoW Ragnarok whether in a straight line or by completing the side quests. If you're only going for the storyline, know that it will take you about twenty hours to complete Kratos and Atreus' new journey in a normal configuration and about forty if you're looking to see all the interesting content . That's a good lifespan: that's a lot, but it's not overkill either. For more details, especially on the place of cutscenes in the game, you can consult the article below.

What can we expect for this sequel?
Story
We don't teach you anything, God of War 2018 ends on a big cliffhanger. While returning to their home, Kratos and Atreus get hit by a heavy snowstorm, as a new stranger with a thunderbolt hammer knocks on their door. Ragnarok will therefore be a direct sequel to the journey of the little Nordic family, and it will be possible to visit the 9 Kingdoms of the world this time . They will meet many new faces, while old acquaintances will hinder their progress. Santa Monica has remained fairly discreet about the content of the scenario, but fans of Norse mythology already have something to enjoy with the many references seen in the trailers.
Gameplay
The developers have promised significant improvements in the level of the bestiary, too light on the first game. More generally, the level design should rely much more on the verticality of the arenas in order to make the most of Kratos' new skills. In the biggest changes seen by watching the gameplay videos, the bearded man gains a charge for his weapons, whose attacks favor elemental ailments leading to new combo options. Atreus should also be more useful, with the destruction of objects and explosive barrels in the arenas. We will have to see if the God of War gains new toys over the course of the game and we should be not bad.
