This Sunday Twitch was experiencing a small revolution as a French streamer revealed to the public a long-term project, a real childhood dream come true.
Zouloux , streamer and Konami partner, presented to us last night the result of seven months of titanic work to bring passion to life: Yu-Gi-Oh .
A connected carpet and holograms
Started in March 2022 after a concert, Zouloux's project is simple: create a Yu-Gi-Oh playmat that would allow him to display the cards he places on the field, in holographic 3D exactly like in the anime. .
The result is stunning and it did not fail to cause a sensation even internationally. A clip from the evening where Zouloux summons a Blue-Eyes White Dragon reached more than 200,000 views in a matter of hours and ended up trending on Reddit , as congratulatory messages swirled around social media and YouTube.
But how does it work?
The playmat created by Zouloux doesn't stop there though, it's a real little control room that hides behind these impressive holograms.
Thanks to this carpet everything is automatic, players place their monster which is then displayed in 2D at the top of the screen to allow spectators to read their effect and statistics before changing the camera to enjoy a 3D plan of the creature .
He can then attack, still in 3D, with a simple press of the streamdeck and eliminate the opposing holograms.
Everything is mainly done via Elgato stream tools, which also congratulated the streamer on Twitter after the reveal. For the moment 30 decks are playable using the carpet which already represents a sufficient number of cards not to get bored too quickly. Each new addition requires a lot of work which involves chipping new cards, putting them back in sleeves and scanning them, Zouloux spoke of several tens of hours to prepare these 30 decks but this one still does not exclude the possibility of add more later, so we may see updates in the future.
For the moment no information has been given on a possible distribution of this material. Using products from other brands, nothing is guaranteed, all that remains is to follow the progress of the project!
