Stage 4 is coming soon, and Blizzard has announced all the new features it will bring. Role Lock, in particular, has arrived on the Overwatch League! Find all the information below.
Role Lock
First major change, starting from Stage 4, the league will officially adopt the 2-2-2. The teams will therefore be constantly composed of 2 DPS, 2 Tanks and 2 Supports. Players will only be able to change characters within their role during a map. When changing maps, players will be able to change hero categories if necessary. To allow better identification by the audience, players will be placed on stage according to their roles. From left to right we will have the 2 DPS, then the 2 Tanks and finally the 2 Supports. If players change roles, they will also have to change places.
The Overwatch League teams were informed at the beginning of June, in order to give them the maximum preparation time. The end-of-season playoffs, which will start on August 30, will be played on a new patch that will include hero balancing.
